Based at Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, WYOB-LP is a non-commercial, not-for-profit radio station used to provide high school students with professional radio skills by experienced broadcasters.
With a reggae based music format, WYOB-LP, 105.5 FM is expected to become a full-time Career Technical Educational (CTE) course.
Like commercial stations WYOB-LP is on the air 365/24/7—and along with regularly scheduled classroom learning students participate in all aspects of the radio station; announcing, writing, producing and developing online social and outside station promotions used for fund raising. The station also accepts underwriting from businesses to support its activities.

Skip Finley, Founder of WYOB summered on Martha’s Vineyard with his family since 1955 and is a year round resident. Thanks to efforts of members of his board Finley received a grant from the Federal Communications Commission to construct a Low Power radio station (LPFM) licensed to Oak Bluffs, MA in October 2014. The organization’s name is M&M Community Development Inc., Oak Bluffs Branch.

Finley has been a nationally recognized radio broadcasting and media executive for many years, working in media (principally broadcasting) since May 1971. Finley has owned radio stations and had responsibility for 43 stations encompassing 17 US media markets, 3 radio networks, 2 nationally syndicated radio programs, 1 syndicated full time radio format and 1 satellite channel.

He is a former Vice-Chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters, a former Chairman of the Radio Advertising Bureau, and served the boards of directors of most industry associations.

Retired, today he is a writer and works for his hometown newspaper, the Vineyard Gazette, where he wrote the weekly Oak Bluffs Town column from 2012-2017 and serves as director of sales and marketing.  He has recently completed a non-fiction book about whaling captains of color to be published in late 2018.
